A unique opportunity to taste our 3 varieties together. “Season Expression” showcases the Kyara estate vineyard at its best. You will receive each of our estate grown varieties of 2015 Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2018 Riesling.
“Bush Lawyer” 2015 Shiraz will not disappoint. Rich dark ruby-red colour with tinges of brick and purple. Bouquet of creosote, BBQ meats and cocoa powder developed from its time on oak. Attractive development, this wine is full bodied yet soft with berry fruits and plum flavours. Drinking well now and could be rewarded with a little time cellaring.
“Justice of the Peace” 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant with good colour, deep and still retains some purple tints. A bouquet that is savoury and starting to show some age, oak-tinged and earthy. With juicy, raspberry ripe-fruits at its core and very soft tannin making it very Eden Valley.
“Thistle & Burr” 2018 Riesling. Crisp lime and green apple flavours and aromas are combined with a balanced acidity and lingering length of palette. This refreshing dry Riesling is a fine example of the very best that the Eden Valley region can offer.
Our winemaker, Jo Irvine, shows off her skill and dedication to small details, and by comparing each variety you will experience her ability to perfectly balance and finesse each of our wines.

The Vineyard
The Kyara estate vineyard is situated in Keyneton part of the Eden Valley wine region. Known as the Barossa’s high country, the wine produced in this area is renowned for wonderful aromatics, elegance and complexity. The rugged beauty of the hilly terrain and ancient giant gumtrees surround our vineyard. Our vines grown in soil well suited to dryland viticulture, with its sandy loam over gravel, rock and clay patches.
Background
After arriving in the Eden Valley region in 1861, our ancestor Heinrich Fiebiger was one of the founding men who petitioned the South Australian Governor to for a local council. Over 150 years later our family still thrive and live off the land in this area. After taking on the vineyard in 2012 we decided to dedicate the wines after the many roles Heinrich undertook during the formative years of establishing a community.

Our 2018 "Thistle & Burr" Riesling is a classic example of the stunning lime flavours that the Eden Valley is world renowned for. Our single site estate grown vineyard with ancient sandy loam soils over areas of bedrock and clay provide the perfect conditions to Riesling grapes to develop in. Lime and green apple flavours and aromas are combined with a balanced acidity and lingering length of palette. This refreshing crisp dry Riesling is a fine example of the very best that the Eden Valley region can offer.
Our Winemaking
With 2013 being the first vintage for Kyara, our winemaker Jo Irvine shows off her skill in understanding fruit from the Eden Valley and matching oak perfectly to our red varieties. She takes great care and detail in ensuring our fruit expresses our vineyard and the season it came from.
Wine Profile
The wines from our 2015 & 2018 vintages represent the characteristics that the Eden Valley is renowned for. Our “Thistle & Burr” Riesling is elegant with lemon lime flavours and aromas with a lingering length of flavour. Our “Bush Lawyer” Shiraz shows off dark berry fruits and
plum flavours with a soft tannin structure resulting in an elegant wine of great complexity and balance. Our “Justice of the Peace” Cabernet Sauvignon shows a combination of mulberry and briary fruit flavours of many layers which is supported by a firm, textured tannin finish which lingers and persists.
