A late ripening variety grown in Eden Valley, our 2021 Montepulciano displays vibrant, rich deep purple hues with generous aromatics of ripe raspberries, all spice and plums, followed on the palate with dark red Morello cherries and a firm, lingering subtle tannin finish.
The montepulciano is an Italian grape variety, which when grown in Eden Valley creates a fruit driven lively palette of cherries and cranberries which gives away to a spicy aromatic finish.
Our winemaker, Jo Irvine, has carefully crafted this to be a luscious, well-rounded and dry style.
Arriving in the Eden Valley region in 1861 our ancestor, Heinrich Fiebiger was one of the founding men who petitioned the South Australian Governor to form a local council. Over 150 years later our family still thrive & live off the land in this area. We named this wine after his lifetime acts
of generosity to his community. He was awarded a medal as a token of appreciation for his many deeds of kindness.
